Dear reader:

China made new moves last week to limit foreign access to information with restrictions on the Wind database, which is something like Bloomberg’s terminal service but focused on Chinese companies and economic data — see the Wall Street Journal for details.

We’ll have more on that tomorrow, with a look at the growing number of obstacles and problems for foreign companies in China.

But our top story today focuses on American worries about Chinese spying, as the two countries grow increasingly paranoid about one another, leading to misguided policies and misplaced anxieties.

Our Word of the Day is: LinkedIn (领英 lǐng yīng, which could be literally translated as “leader hero”).
