Welcome to The Serica Initiative! The Serica Initiative is a New York-based nonprofit organization that galvanizes a global community of changemakers to advocate for greater Asian American inclusion and advance positive social impact in U.S.-China relations, through dialogue, storytelling, and our convening power.
Serica carries out this mission through our strategic priorities: (1) to educate and cultivate empathy around the issues of Sinophobia and anti-Asian hate; (2) to amplify the impact of Next Gen U.S.-China philanthropy and social innovation; and (3) to catalyze the business and social sectors to collaborate on some of the most pressing issues shaping China’s relationship with the world, including sustainability, climate, and ESG. Serica is classified by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and was formerly the sister nonprofit of The China Project, a New York-based, China-focused news, information, and business services platform.
U.S.-China relations stand at a vital juncture. This relationship is more challenging than most of us can remember in our lifetimes. Yet, opportunities for China and America to collaborate on some of the world’s most pressing issues — climate change, healthcare, pandemics, education, among others —continue to abound. Such efforts are also more necessary than ever. The world’s two most powerful countries must work together in these areas for action-focused, meaningful, and sustainable solutions going forward.
We must think boldly about what the U.S.-China relationship can — and should — be. Join Serica in our mission, and explore the social impact YOU can make in the U.S.-China space. Your involvement is more important, and can make a greater impact, than ever: there is so much work to be done together.
The Serica Initiative welcomes collaborations, on an individual and institutional basis. Please contact The Serica Initiative at info@sericainitiative.org to explore potential ways to work together.
